A story in Nusantara during 16th Century. The Kedatuan Bukit Jerai was a small kingdom led by Dapunta Hyang Mahawangsa and his consort Ratu Kalimanyang. They had two sons, Awang Kencana and Purnama Kelana. Dapunta Hyang was entering old age and it was time to hand over his leadership to his crown prince. But contrary to custom, Dapunta chose Purnama Kelana as his successor.
